The 19,636-acre Camel's Hump State Park adjoins the Farm, linking it to an extensive network of hiking trails and the famous Long Trail system. We are two miles from the Camel’s Hump trailhead, and the hiking trails of Mount Mansfield -- Vermont's tallest peak -- are just a 40-minute drive to the north in either Underhill or Stowe.
Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding
There are six ski resorts within an hour's drive of The Farm including Stowe Mountain Resort, Bolton Valley, Smuggler's Notch, Mad River Glen, and Sugarbush.
Cross-Country Skiing
To access the The Catamount Ski Trail, simply follow the fence line at The Farm. It’s accessible just 300 yards from the Pond.
There are many cross-country ski areas within an hour's drive as well, including the Catamount Family Center, Camel's Hump Nordic Ski Area, Sleepy Hollow Bike & Ski Center, and the Bolton Valley Nordic Center.
Water Sports
The Farm is just 30 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain where kayaking, canoeing, and sailing are available from a variety of providers. Several local outfitters offer kayak and canoe rentals including Umiak Outfitters.
Mountain & Road Biking
The Fellowship of the Wheel is an organization that works with local landowners to develop and maintain several mountain biking trail networks just minutes from the Farm. You can download maps of their trail system by visiting their website.
The Burlington Bike Path is a spectacular 12-mile bike and walking trail along the shore of Lake Champlain. The Bike Path runs north through the city's public beaches and suburbs and out on the Colchester Causeway three miles into the middle of the Lake.
The Stowe Recreation Path is a 5.5 mile greenway, paved for non-motorized recreation with numerous picnic and swimming areas.
